Description

With sensitivity and clever plotting the author explores themes of control, self esteem and the secrecy that can exist in family relationships and wraps it up in a beautifully crafted and descriptively haunting psychological thriller. My one issue with the book is that initially it does not flow very well with some backtracking and it’s hard to make sense of what’s going on. When the truth is revealed at the end, it isn’t the big twisty shocker some readers – myself included – would have been hoping for. Now a documentary team of two from Australia have arrived to hopefully shed some light on that fateful night in an attempt to uncover what really happened. I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I am sure this book will work beautifully for other people who are not as anxious about reading as I am. If you are an avid mystery reader you can spot miles off ‘who dunnit ‘, but that doesnt matter one bit in this case. Chilling and atmospheric , After the Silence is sharp and perceptively written , with a mystery at its heart that will keep you gripped.Nota: Los envíos a España peninsular, Baleares y Canarias se realizan a través de mensajería urgente. I read this accidentally in tandem with Lucy Foley’s The Guest List - both remote-island-based whodunnits, but they do have their differences. Most of the full sentences that were in Irish were translated after the fact anyway, so I don't really know what people are complaining about.

Mo stór (my darling) is never translated in the novel, but it is used as an obvious term of endearment in context. However, that captivation was mainly because it was written in a way that made me think this book might have some element of magical realism to it.Inisrun is a place where everyone’s business is everyone’s business, and the rumour mill is ever-churning. The only book i didn't like of hers was Only Ever Yours as i found it bland and difficult to follow.
